I have the honour to forward the enclosed
copy of a letter from lir. J. Morris, dated the 30th. ultimo, and
to state that upon the recommendation of Mr. E. 3. Lindsey, and
subject to your approval, I propose to appoint Mr. Morris to the
post of Chief Accountant in the Railway Department of this
Colony upon the following terms:-
(a).
Salary £360 to £450 by £30 triennially
(i.e. the same salary as that of the Accountant in the Hongkong
Post Office), upon the understanding that
(i). in view of his past service Mr. Morris will
draw as from the 1st. of next January the first incre- -ment of his post, i.e. a salary at the rate of £390 per
annum and the second increment as from the 1st.January,
1914:
